| 1. Worth Reading Every Day |
| In our family we’re close to the end of our third year of reading this along with The Boys’ and Girls’ Calendar and God’s Word with our breakfast each morning. We read Comfort of the Scriptures for a year and then tried a similar book from a well-known Christian author. It had some nice thoughts but wasn’t nearly as helpful as this scripture-packed volume of daily themed meditations. Try today’s thoughts for yourself. |

| Unlike Daily Light which is pure Scripture, each page of Comfort of the Scriptures is probably 50+% Scripture tied together with words that connect the thoughts and themes of the lead verse for the day. The Word of God is presented front and center for the daily comfort of the soul. |
| 3. Weak Poems—Strong Thoughts |
| The four line poems that accompany each page are all original and their near total lack of meter may explain why you haven’t seen them elsewhere. However after stumbling over them for several weeks my wife and I discovered we could read them as prose and enjoy their many fine thoughts. They’ve been a source of refreshment since that day. |
