308. Saviour Divine, Whose Name We Know

by Doddridge
Saviour divine, whose name we know,
In whom alone we trust,
Thou art the Lord our Righteousness,
Thou art Thy people's boast.
Matthew 1:21; Psalm 9:10; Jeremiah 23:6; 1 Corinthians 1:30
The guilty soul, by sin defiled,
The conscience sore oppressed,
In Thee believing stands approved,
And finds abiding rest.
Romans 5:12; Titus 1:15; Romans 16:10; Matthew 11:28
To Thee, our great redeeming Lord,
What lasting thanks we owe,
For raising sinners to such joys
From depths of endless woe.
