A Better Country

Hebrews 2:16  •  1 min. read
Listen from:
Though the world is all around us,
Lost in pleasure and in sin;
We have found a better country
And ere long shall enter in.
We've His own sure word of promise,
He for us will come again,
We shall dwell with God's Beloved,
When His flock is gathered in.
'Twas the Father's love that gave Him,
Here to suffer and to die,
That to glory He might bring us,
Where the many mansions lie.
Lost one! Jesus came to save thee;
(There's a table spread for thee,)
Bids the weary, heavy laden,
" Come and find your rest in Me."
Though your sins be great and many,
He'll remember them no more;
He will pardon, cleanse and fit thee
There to dwell when time is o'er.
Can'st thou turn away and grieve Him?
Thou wilt never find such Jove,
Though thou search the wide world over,
As is found in God above.
