Let us now go even unto Bethlehem.
Bethlehem is just a small town about 6 miles south of Jerusalem. Rachel, Jacob’s wife, was buried there. Ruth the Moabitess lived there. David was probably born, there because that’s where he was anointed, and it is called the city of David. The Lord Jesus, God’s only Son, was born there to Mary in a stable because there was no room for them in the inn. Bethlehem means “house of bread.” Jesus said that He was the bread of life who came down from heaven. How thankful we should be that He did come, and that He died, and rose again, and is now back in heaven waiting to take us there.
