Most Bibles can be thumb-indexed. Indented Tab (semi-circle) Thumb-indexing is superior to the use of exterior rectangular Bible Index Tabs because it is professionally done and wears better and looks better than Bible Index Tabs. However, any form of indexing ultimately causes the page edges to wear more quickly than they normally would, and the application of Index Tabs can be somewhat time-consuming. Bible Truth Publishers used to offer thumb-indexing service through several Bible distributors; but as pre-indexed Bibles have become more common and more popular, the distributors have ceased to provide this service.
