Blest Lamb of God! with grateful praise
Our voices now to Thee we raise —
O’er earth to reign, redeemed by blood,
Kingdom and priests are we to God.
“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)
“And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!” (John 1:36)
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (1 Peter 1:18-19)
“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” (Revelation 5:10)
Soon, too, in glory shall we sing,
And louder praises to Thee bring,
While every nation, tongue and tribe,
Strength, glory, might, to Thee ascribe!
