The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. (Deut. 33:27)
God is known … for a refuge. (Psa. 48:3)
There is a shelter in the storm;
Grace has bestowed in gracious measure;
When foes assail and fears alarm —
We find our help: this greatest treasure,
The everlasting arms!

Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt thee. (Psa. 37:34)
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. (Psa. 37:37)
I know not why my pathway leads
   Through valleys rough and steep,
But this I know, while walking there
   I’ve found communion sweet;
Though all I loved be swept away,
   His voice would still be heard
Above the storm, and as I lift
   My tear-filled eyes to Him,
The great Creator, Lord of all,
   He whispers “Peace” within.

His eyes are upon the ways of man, and He seeth all his goings. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves. (Job 34:21‑22)
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. (Heb. 4:13)
We fly not from that all-seeing eye,
Which once we shunned, to hide ourselves in night;
The blood that purged our sins has brought us nigh
To dwell in God’s own love and walk in light;
Thee, holy, holy, holy, Lord, we love,
Whose holy will we now delight to learn and prove.

Ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. (1 Thess. 1:6,10)
Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us. (2 Cor. 1:10)
Quickened, raised, and in Him seated,
   We a full deliverance know;
Every foe has been defeated,
   Every enemy laid low.
Soon, O Lord, in brightest glory,
   All its vastness we’ll explore;
While we wait Thy promised coming,
   We will worship and adore.

The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in Him. (Lam. 3:24)
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father. (1 Thess. 1:3)
I want to give the oil of joy for tears,
The faith to conquer crowding doubts and fears;
Beauty for ashes may I give always,
Because I shall not pass again this way.
I want to give to others hope and faith;
I want to do all that the Saviour saith,
To meet the needs of others every day,
Because I shall not pass again this way.

He hath put a NEW SONG in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. (Psa. 40:3)
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a NEW SONG, and His praise in the congregation of saints. (Psa. 149:1)
They sung as it were a NEW SONG before the throne. (Rev. 14:3)
Awake, each saint, in joyful lays,
To sing the great Redeemer’s praise;
He justly claims a song from thee;
His loving-kindness, oh how free!

Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of My fury; thou shalt no more drink it again. (Isa. 51:22)
The cup which My Father hath given Me, shall I not drink it? (John 18:11)
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished. (John 19:30)
Death and the curse were in our cup —
   O Christ, ’twas full for Thee!
But Thou hast drained the last dark drop;
   ’Tis empty now for me;
That bitter cup — love drank it up;
   Left but the love for me.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou wilt revive me. … Thy right hand shall save me. (Psa. 138:7)
Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid Thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. (Psa. 139:5‑6)
I do not know what may befall,
   Of sunshine or of rain;
I do not know what may be mine,
   Of pleasure and of pain;
But this I know — my Saviour knows
   The path I cannot see;
And I can trust His wounded hand
   To guide and care for me.

These all CONTINUED with one accord in prayer and supplication. (Acts 1:14)
They CONTINUED steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:42)
At His feet we take our place,
From life’s hurried, busy pace;
Resting there — Himself our joy —
Jesus Christ our heart’s employ.
Thus may we continue there,
Meditating on His care;
Find a quiet, glad retreat,
Full resource at Jesus’ feet.

He … offered up His only begotten Son. (Heb. 11:17)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Oh, have you not heard of that wonderful love
   That flows from God’s heart so free,
Which led Him to give for a perishing world
   His Son to be nailed to the tree?
Believe that wonderful love;
Believe that wonderful love;
   The gospel is free;
   God sends it to thee;
Believe God’s wonderful love.
