(Baal’s man). Ishbosheth, Saul’s fourth son (1 Chron. 8:33; 9:39³³And Ner begat Kish, and Kish begat Saul, and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi-shua, and Abinadab, and Esh-baal. (1 Chronicles 8:33)
³⁹And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi-shua, and Abinadab, and Esh-baal. (1 Chronicles 9:39)).

Apparently the same as ISH-BOSHETH. The one name signifies “man of Baal,” and the other “man of shame.”
