The time to come is the time of glory and perfection of church; the present, the time of faithfulness and faith, but of a faith which counts upon God, that the church by His power may manifest His glory, even in this world, by its entire superiority to all that governs the world and exerts an influence upon it. The church is the seat of the power of God in the world. What have we made of it? (See Eph. 3:20,2120Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20‑21).) The Epistle to the Ephesians—-presents the perfection of the church's portion before God; that to the Thessalonians gives us, in the most interesting manner, the perfection of the Christian's portion individually J.
