City and district in Gilead: it was taken from the Amorites by Israel, allotted to Gad, and given to the Levites (Num. 21:32³²And Moses sent to spy out Jaazer, and they took the villages thereof, and drove out the Amorites that were there. Identified by some with Beit Zerah, 31° 50' N, 35° 51' E.
