Jesus Lives

The terrors of the cross are past,—
Jesus lives—
Redemption's work, so grand, so vast,
Jesus lives,
Although a crown of thorns He wore,
And all man's wicked hatred bore,
Those dreadful suff'rings now are o'er,
Jesus lives.

Captivity is captive led,
Jesus lives.
Death and the grave bear naught of dread,
Jesus lives,
Released from sin and Satan's hold
We soon shall enter joy untold—
With rapt delight His face behold,
Jesus lives.
