Light and Darkness

Listen from:
“We made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,” and we “were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honor and glory.” We have a “sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1). “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness” (1Thess. 5:55Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. (1 Thessalonians 5:5)). Although we are children of the day, we live during the nighttime, for the Sun of righteousness is not here. While it is night, we are, as the church, to be the moon and individually to be the stars. We are to look for the dawn and let our Lord Jesus, the day star, arise and shine in our hearts. May this issue help and encourage each and all of us to follow our Lord’s instructions: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matt. 5:1616Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)).
