217. Look, Look, Ye Saints, Within the Veil

C.M.
by S. Harrison, 1779
1
Look, look, ye saints, within the veil

And raise your happy song;

Your joys can never, never fail,

For you to Christ belong.
“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.” (Hebrews 10:19-20)
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” (Philippians 4:4)
“And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.” (1 Corinthians 3:23)
2
O happy saints, forever freed

From guilt and every care,

Dwell, dwell with your exalted Head,

And let your life be there.
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1)
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.” (Philippians 2:9)
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18)
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:3-4)
3
And glory in your Lord and God;

See, see Him as He is;

Your robes are spotless through His blood,

Your happiness is His.
“That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:31)
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” (John 15:11)

Oh think not of this world of woe,

Though subject still to grief;

But seek your portion there to know,

For this will give relief.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
“As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.” (2 Corinthians 6:10)
“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)
“That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” (Hebrews 6:18-20)
5
Aye trust, forever trust in God,

For every promise given;

And dwell with Him through Jesus’ blood

Within the veil of heaven.
“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5)
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Corinthians 1:20)
“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.” (Hebrews 6:19)
