A port in Italy on the N. E. of the bay of Naples, where Paul landed on his way to Rome (Acts 28:1313And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: (Acts 28:13)). It has suffered both by sieges and by eruptions, and is now only a poor Italian town. A few piers of the harbor remain. It is now called Pozzuoli.
