VERSE 2 is as to priests “taken from among men," but the Irvingites took all this, and applied it to Christ.
It is not strictly priestly work, though it is what the high priest did. In the end of Heb. 2 you get Christ making reconciliation, and, in that sense, He was High Priest on the cross. It was not intercession there, but it laid the foundation of all subsequent priesthood.
