This refreshing book presents the divine love of God calling a sinner. God’s plan and provision of salvation reach out to refresh the heart of a new believer or present an excellent gospel presentation for a very interested unbeliever.

These aren’t the cold, hard facts to be skimmed, memorized and forgotten. We enter a living relationship with a risen Christ in glory. As Wolston puts it in the chapter entitled A Rent Veil, A Risen Saviour, A Redeemed Sinner, “What the gospel does for a soul that receives it, is to bring it to God, not merely to bring a man to heaven when he dies, but to bring him to God now, to enjoy God now, before he gets to heaven.”

Most of this book focuses on presenting the gospel from the call of Rebecca in Genesis 24. But four extra chapters are included. My favorite is an excellent 9‑page summary of Christ’s three appearings. If you aren’t familiar with them, then you have a lot to look forward to. A lot in The Call of the Bride but far more in your future view of Christ’s glory.
