	When by our sins undone;
	That He might spare His enemies,
	He would not spare His Son;

2	His only Son, on whom was placed	Proverbs 8:22-30
	His whole delight and love,
	Before He formed the earth below,
	Or spread the heavens above.

3	Our sorrows and our guilt to bear,	Isaiah 53:4-6; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Thessalonians 5:10
	Our judgment to sustain;
	He came, upon the tree to die,
	That we might life obtain.

4	His Word assures He'll quickly come,	Revelation 22:17,20; Romans 8:22;
	For this His brethren pray;
	The whole creation for it groans,
	Come, Lord, without delay!
