84. We Hear the Words of Love | S.M. |
| by H. Bonar |

|
| 1 | We hear the words of love, | John 10:11; John 19:34; Hebrews 10:12; Romans 5:1 |
| We gaze upon the blood, |
| We see the mighty sacrifice, |
| And we have peace with God. |
|
| 2 | 'Tis everlasting peace! | 2 Thessalonians 3:16; Exodus 3:14-15; Hebrews 1:8; Hebrews 1:12 |
| Sure as Jehovah's name; |
| 'Tis stable as His steadfast throne, |
| Forevermore the same. |
|
| 3 | Our love is ofttimes low, | Malachi 3:6 |
| Our joy still ebbs and flows; |
| But peace with Him remains the same, |
| No change Jehovah knows. |
|
| 4 | We change—He changes not; | Malachi 3:6; Acts 13:34-37; 1 John 4:19 |
| Our Christ can never die: |
| His love, not ours, the resting-place, |
| We on His truth rely. |
|
| 5 | The cross still stands unchanged, | Luke 24:2-3 |
| Though heaven is now His home; |
| The mighty stone is rolled away, |
| But yonder is His tomb! |
|
| 6 | And yonder is our peace, | 1 John 4:2; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 |
| The grave of all our woes; |
| We know the Son of God has come, |
| We know He died and rose. |
|
| 7 | We know He liveth now | Revelation 1:18; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 4:16 |
| At God's right hand above; |
| We know the throne on which He sits, |
| We know His truth and love! |
