181. When Satan Appears | 10s or 11s. |

|
| 1 | When Satan appears | 1 Peter 5:8; Genesis 22:8,14 |
| To stop up our path, |
| And fill us with fears, |
| We triumph by faith; |
| He cannot take from us, |
| Though oft he has tried, |
| The heart-cheering promise, |
| The Lord will provide. |
|
| 2 | He tells us we're weak, | 2 Corinthians 11:14 |
| Our hope is in vain, |
| The good that we seek |
| We ne'er shall obtain; |
| But when such suggestions |
| Our spirits have tried, |
| This answers all questions, |
| The Lord will provide. |
|
| 3 | No strength of our own, | Psalm 88:4; Romans 5:6; Romans 7:18; Psalm 61:3; Proverbs 18:10; Isaiah 41:10 |
| Or goodness we claim; |
| Yet since we have known |
| The Saviour's great name, |
| In this, our strong tower, |
| For safety we hide, |
| The Lord is our power, |
| The Lord will provide. |
|
| 4 | Should life sink apace, | Psalm 23:4; Romans 8:31; Psalm 56:9 |
| And death be in view, |
| This word of His grace |
| Shall comfort us through; |
| No fearing or doubting, |
| With Christ on our side, |
| Through faith we'll die shouting, |
| The Lord will provide. |
