Dear Young Christian:
I recently noticed a short article in an old periodical for young people, but still with a relevant message for today. I will pass it along at the beginning of this week for your encouragement:
Don’t be a coward. If you show the devil a bold front he will flee from you. The unconverted friends you fear are much more afraid of you than you are of them. Tell them boldly that you are Christ’s, and they will frighten you no more. It is astonishing how timid unconverted people are in the presence of a downright, hearty, earnest Christian. If we, in dependence, pray, “O my God, I trust in Thee: let me not be ashamed”(Psalm 25:2), He will enable us boldly to say, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation, to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).
Maybe this article will give us courage this week to stand up and be counted with those who are on the Lord’s side.
