Let Us…
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1).
David was glad for an invitation to enter with others into the House of the Lord. Notice the word “us.” This is plural…this is with others…fellow-believers…those who have the same desire, and that is to be together collectively in the Lord’s presence. To be where He is, and where He desires that His own would gather.
Just as David had this invitation and privilege, so do we on another Lord’s Day. Are we also glad? Do we look forward with joyful anticipation to being with those of “like precious faith” where the Lord is in the midst, and to partake of the “Lord’s supper” at the “Lord’s table”? He has promised, “Where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
As we come into His presence, may our hearts be overflowing with gladness, thanksgiving, praise, and most of all worship.
