When a person is saved, he is born into God’s family. He loves God and God’s children. God’s children are the other believers. We saved people will obey God’s Word, and our faith in God will help us to overcome the temptations we have in this world.
We have three witnesses to assure us that we are saved. The first witness is the Spirit of God who prepared our hearts to understand the gospel and gave us the faith to put our trust in the Lord Jesus. The Spirit lives in our hearts as a guarantee that we are going to heaven. Second, as a believer reads the Word of God, it is like water that washes away the daily sin the believer sees or hears or does. The third witness, the blood of Jesus, has taken away the guilt of our sin. With these three witnesses we can know that we have eternal life.
If we believers read the Bible, we will know what the will of God is so we will know what to ask for. Jesus will give it to us when we ask according to His will.
We, the children of God, need to keep ourselves from idols. An idol is something that we love more than God.
