To suppose, as the author does, that “they are real members of the real Church of Christ, that is, real subjects of converting grace,” is to contradict scores of the plainest statements of holy Scripture. We believe the foolish virgins represent that large class of persons who, though they carry in their hands the lamp of profession, have never had in their hearts the spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
