Listen from:
When Paul came to Corinth, he was going to investigate their problems. When he had information about the sin from two or three witnesses, he would use his authority as an apostle to punish those who were doing the evil. Paul tells them to examine themselves to see if they truly have faith. If they do have faith, they should prove it by turning away from their wicked deeds. Paul’s prayer is that they would stop the sin, be honest, and keep themselves pure. His purpose in writing to them was not to destroy them but to make them strong in their faith. At the end of Paul’s letter, he encourages them to be of one mind according to the Spirit of God, to be at peace and to greet one another with purity. These are good for us to practice also — unity, peace and purity.
