Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
How do we despise the Word? Ignore it, forget its warnings, or reject it altogether. The New Testament has a verse that says, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?” (Hebrews 2:33How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; (Hebrews 2:3).) Just simply neglecting the Word because you’re too busy is to despise the Word. The result? Your destruction. Conversely, to accept the Scripture and heed its warnings, to believe it and accept Jesus as the only way of salvation will give great reward - eternal life. That’s the greatest reward that anyone could ask for. Do you believe?
