Lance-Corporal Roberts writes: — “I thank you for your last parcel of tracts and postcards, I gave the postcards to the British West India Regiment, so you can expect some of them to send to you. We have left our billets and gone nearer the line, so that I have had to say ‘Good-bye’ to my friends. It has been a glorious few days we spent among them, as each night we have had a service, and, praise God, decisions for Jesus Christ. I wish you could have come to our Sunday’s meeting; we had a large crowd of blacks, and white men — one black sergeant the same name as myself. We had three decisions for Christ, one of them in my own regiment, thanks be to Jesus; and last night one of the West India Regiment commended us to God, on the grounds of Psalms 23. I quite enjoyed reading this month’s “Message from God,” and I soon found waiting hands ready to receive them from me. I can tell you the puzzle is how to make them go round. Thank you for your prayers and the prayers of all our brethren; God grant us the answer... I am glad that I know in whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep me,” — Yours in Christ Jesus. J. R., Lce-Corpl.
