241. Savior, Through the Desert Lead Us

8,7.
by T. Kelly
1
Savior, through the desert lead us,

Without Thee we cannot go;

Thou from cruel chains hast freed us,

And hast laid the tyrant low:

Let Thy presence

Cheer us all our journey through.
2
Through a desert waste and cheerless,

Though our destined journey lie,

Rendered by Thy presence fearless,

We may every foe defy:

Naught shall move us,

While we see Thee, Savior, nigh.
3
With a price Thy love has bought us,

(Savior, what a love is Thine!)

Hitherto Thy power has brought us,

(Power and love in Thee combine):

Lord of glory,

Ever on Thy household shine.
“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.” (John 15:9)
“And there ran a man of Benjamin out of the army, and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes rent, and with earth upon his head.” (1 Samuel 4:12)
“Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.” (John 11:5)
“And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.” (John 11:44)
“Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:8)
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God.” (Ephesians 2:19)
