A Burial at Sea

The following picture was sent to me by a sailor, who was present on the Man of War when this funeral’ took place. Tens of thousands have been buried in the depths of the sea, but one day” the “sea will give up the dead that are in it.” Let us pray especially now for those at sea — the hidden death is there.
“O Saviour, whose almighty word,
The winds and waves submissive heard,
Who walked’st on the foaming deep,
And calm amid its rage did’st sleep;
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.
