It made for a graphic picture, and it certainly made the news. A transport driver had forgotten to adjust the top deck and lower it to the proper setting. It meant that when he went under a bridge, the top deck was too high, resulting in a new Range Rover Velar instantly losing its roof and becoming a convertible. The roof flew through the air, smashing through the windshield of the truck behind the transport, giving the driver quite a scare! Fortunately, neither the driver of the transport or truck was injured. A second silver Velar was damaged, but kept its roof on.
The Range Rover Velar model can go for as much as $99,838.50. How could the driver just “forget” to lower the top deck, resulting in such costly damage? Very easily, it turns out. He told police that while he was loading the new car onto the transport, he was distracted by a woman pushing a stroller who asked him to move. However, being in charge of moving these expensive cars from one showroom to another, he was fully responsible to see that the job was done safely and in the proper manner. The police reported him for driving without “due care and attention.”
Are you going through life without “due care and attention” as to your need of a Savior? The Bible tells us that if you are, the consequences will be “everlasting destruction.” “Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1:99Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (2 Thessalonians 1:9)). As a warning, Jesus told us of the terrible torment and hopelessness of hell. But He also told us of a way of escape made available to everyone that will put their trust in Him alone. Jesus alone is the One who can wash us and cleanse us from our sins and make us fit for God’s holy presence. It is by “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:2121Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21)). Jesus suffered agony on the cross for our sins and shed His pure blood for our sins. Tell God that you know that you are a sinner and ask Him to forgive you for Jesus’ sake. He never turns anyone away, no one is too hopelessly wretched for Him to save. “Him that cometh to Me, I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:3737All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37)). It is a promise “which God, that cannot lie” has given to us (Titus 1:22In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Titus 1:2)). This is God’s wonderful plan of salvation — do not carelessly ignore or put off your soul’s eternal well-being — come to Him for salvation now, while there is yet time! “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:1616For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)).
