“He knoweth the way that I take: when He hath tried me I shall come forth as gold.”—Job 23:1010But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. (Job 23:10).
IN THY BELOVED HAND,
Thy tender, faithful hand,
MY LORD,
My days are stored,
And take their shape and color at Thy will.
Thy will for me is my abiding bliss,
My will, my Lord, to honor Thee in this,
THEN DO THY WILL.
BRIGHT WITH BLESSING FROM THE FATHER,
SWEET WITH THE REDEEMER’S LOVE,
Dawns a fresh “New Year” upon us
God’s unfailing care to prove.
Still the stream of life is flowing,
And, while sailing on its breast,
God still pardons, Christ still welcomes
ALL WHO COME TO HIM FOR REST.
I do not ask Thee, oh my Lord, for health,
Or this world’s wealth
I ask Thee for a spirit free from care.
I ask Thee for a heart that knows no fear
OF PAIN, OR POVERTY, OR EARTHLY ILL:
I ASK THEE FOR A HEART THAT LOVES, AND
TRUSTS THEE STILL.
