Yes, we can! God has made this very clear for us in the Bible. How thankful we should be! Three apostles speak on the subject:
First, Peter says in his preaching in Acts: "Through His (that is, Jesus') Name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins."1 He also tells us in his epistle that "Christ suffered for us," and that "His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree." 2
Then again, Paul preaches forgiveness of sins, saying, "Through this Man (the Lord Jesus) is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him all that believe are justified from all things."3 He tells us, too, that "we have redemption through His (Jesus') blood, the forgiveness of sins."4
The apostle John also writes to believers and says, "Your sins are forgiven you for His Name's sake."5 He also says that Jesus has "loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood.”6
In Heb. 10 we read, "And their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Yes, we may say again, we can know that our sins are forgiven, that is, if we are believers on the Lord Jesus Christ—the Son of God. It is all because "Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God."7
