It is human nature to follow someone. Even the animals like each other's company. Out in the big fields you will see a flock of sheep feeding near together, or a herd of cattle all in the same part of the pasture. They would rather stay near each other than wander far away by themselves.
There are many things in this world that we can follow,— some good, and some bad. Satan wants us to follow pleasures and worldly affairs and ungodly men,—anything to keep our thoughts and our hearts away from God. But God's Word says to follow Him.
Dear children, if we read much in His blessed Word, if we talk much with Him in prayer, we will have a desire to follow in the footsteps of our Saviour, and to do as He would have us do.
We will seek to show the same love and grace and kindness that Jesus showed when He was down here. We will be glad to tell others about our Saviour, just as He taught the multitudes who gathered about Him.
Follow closely every day, for if you don't, you will soon find yourself lagging away behind, and then turning off to one side to follow some one else, or some of the attractions of this world, which can never satisfy you.
