“C”
Are you a sinner? If you are not, you do not need a Saviour. When you are sick, father or mother sends for the doctor, but not when you are well. "They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick." Luke 5:3131And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. (Luke 5:31).
Jesus is the "Great Physician," who gives life to the soul. But it is only sinners who go to Him for salvation. He says,
Some of your friends may tell you that you are a very good girl or boy. But don't let their words of praise deceive you. You may be a well-behaved child, but your heart is sinful.
Many people, men and women as well as children, have a very good opinion of themselves, and think they will earn their way to heaven by their good deeds. They do not feel the need of a Saviour, and they are not looking for one.
If any of you, dear readers, are trusting to your own goodness for salvation, ask the Lord to show you what you really are, and how much you need Him.
Our "A" verse tells us "all have sinned," so you do need a Saviour, whether you think so or not.
But you must know your own need, before you can confess yourself a guilty, lost sinner and accept Christ's offer of salvation.
