A Scripture Alphabet

"E"
Mother is going away for a while, and she says,
"Now children, I want you to be very good while I am gone. Don't quarrel with each other, and don't do any of the things I have told you not to do. When I come back I will have some nice rewards for those who have been good and obedient."
When mother gets back she asks each one how he has behaved during her absence.
Well, Mary got hold of an inkbottle which mother had told her not to touch, and spilt some ink on her dress.
James and Tommie got into a fight, and knocked a good dish off the table, breaking it all to pieces.
You will not be surprised when I tell you that Mary, James, and Tommie went without their rewards.
Someday, dear, children, all of you who know the Lord Jesus as your Saviour, will have to give an account of what you have been doing while He was away, just as you have to account to your mother when she has been away.
What kind of an account do you want to give ? If you are obedient, kind, and helpful to those about you, won't you be much happier in giving account of yourself to the Lord Jesus, than if you have been disobedient and quarrelsome ?
Think about this, dear children, and try to live each day in such a way that you can give a good account of yourselves.
And just as mother has a reward for the obedient children when she comes home, so the Lord Jesus will reward you for all you do to please Him.
"Behold I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Rev. 22:1212And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (Revelation 22:12).
