A Scripture Alphabet

"R"
Dear children, many people when asked if they believe on the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, say they are in no hurry. They want to have a good time. They want to wait till they get old before they think about the future, and what will become of them after death. Satan whispers in their ears,
"There is plenty of time. Enjoy yourselves while you can."
But that is not God's way. He says,
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth."
Here are two reasons for turning to God now
First, You do not know how long you will live. Many people never grow old. There are babies and children of all ages dying every day. Many, both old and young, are taken away suddenly,—some by sickness, and others by accident. You may be the next. If you put off the question of your soul's salvation, thinking you can just as well wait till you are grown and have had many years of this world's pleasures, you may have no chance to turn to the Lord. The only sure way to be saved is to turn to Jesus now, to accept His offer of salvation today. Tomorrow may be too late.
Second, If you believe on the Lord Jesus while you are young, and live to become old or middle-aged, you have many years in which to learn about Jesus. You will know much more about Him than if you turn to Him just a few days or a few months before the end of your life. If the Lord will, we will speak more about this in the article on our "S" verse next week.
In turning to the Saviour while young, you will have all these years not only to learn about Him, but also to tell others about Him, and to serve Him in many ways.
Now, dear reader, is the time to remember your Creator; to think about His goodness and the many blessings He has bestowed upon you; to accept the salvation He offers you through the death of His precious Son, Jesus Christ. The longer you put it off, the greater your loss.
