HAPPY, busy people, who have “work to do, and strength to do the work,” whose days pass so quickly that it is bedtime before you have accomplished half you want to do.
Lift up your hearts in glad thanksgiving, and think sometimes of those for whom it is not so; of those whose days pass in loneliness; of those who can no longer enjoy active doing; of those who are trying to learn the harder lesson or lying still, and suffering gladly. Yet these, also, lift up their hearts in glad, serene thanksgiving, that they may still love and pray.
