By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain.
The Scriptures don’t tell us, but somehow Abel knew that the shedding of blood in a sacrifice would be acceptable to God. Perhaps his parents knew from the animals that God killed in order to clothe them after they had sinned. But one thing is sure: Abel had faith, and his faith was rewarded. He lost his life shortly after he offered his sacrifice to God. He was the first one of the human race to die, and I’m sure we’ll see Abel in heaven. He was covered by the blood of Christ. Are you?
