ROM 5:14
14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. (Romans 5:14)
Adam . . . who is the figure of Him that was to come.
Romans 5:14

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. (Romans 5:14)
This verse talks about Adam’s failure and sin and also that he was a figure of the Lord Jesus. How can that be? It was not his sin that made him a figure (or a picture) of Jesus. It was how he got his bride. Adam was constantly reminded that Eve had come from a rib taken from his side. The Lord Jesus has a wound in His side - a constant reminder (for us) of how He made it possible for us to be with Him in heaven as His Bride.
