“Dear Dr. Heyman Wreford, — Many thanks for your parcel of Tracts and Testaments. You will be pleased to know that the great majority of it was distributed to the boys up the line while I was stretcher- bearer among them. They were very well received, and in no case did I meet with a refusal. And, brother, I had the pleasure of reading two of them as a little sermon to the boys who were in my “dug-out” at a little service we held together. So after that my “dug-out” was known as a depot for the tract distribution. They were very suitable., and it gave me much joy to be able to give them out and to speak a word in season as the Master led me. I was sorry to hear of your illness, and trust and pray that it is only temporary, and that the good work you are doing may prosper. The truth is not, preached to-day, not even here in France, and I know nothing better to defeat the awful errors and trash that one hears than the distribution of these. Gospel tracts. My earnest prayer is that many may be led to know the Lord Jesus as their Saviour, and the only Hope of sinners.
“May God abundantly bless you in this great work to spread the truth among our brave fellows is the prayer of—Yours in Christ, Pte. I H. O.”
