12. Angry Words

1
Angry words! O let them never

From the tongue unbridled slip;

May the love of Jesus ever

Fill the heart and keep the lip.

Love one another, thus said the Savior;

Children, obey the Father’s blest command.

Love one another, thus said the Savior;

Children, obey His blest command.
2
Angry words, though lightly spoken,

Do not suit the child of God,

Happy fellowship is broken

By a single angry word.
3
Love is much too pure and holy,

Christian bonds too sacred far,

For a moment’s reckless folly

Thus to desolate and mar.
