For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
A person who thinks much of himself is not wise. There are many who brag of their accomplishments and how good they are. But the real commendation and approval comes from heaven. Only the commendation of the Lord counts for anything. There will be many who, on reaching heaven, will hear the Lord say to them, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Will He say that to me? Will He say that to you? Among all of life’s accomplishments there will be nothing to compare to hearing those words.
