As He Will

These words have been haunting the writer as he pens these lines. Christendom has disregarded these words to its immense loss. Men are placed in religious positions by men. Man ordains man, and nothing but confusion comes of it. Spurgeon spoke scathingly of empty hands being placed on empty heads. What does Scripture say as to it? " Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations; but it is the same God which worketh all in all." (1 Cor. 12: 4-6.) " But all these worketh that one and the selfsame
Spirit, dividing to every man severally AS HE WILL." (Cor. 12: 11.) Here it is what God does, not man. The Spirit gives to one the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge, to another faith, to another miraculous gifts, to another prophecy, to another the gift of tongues. " AS HE WILL " covers all this. It is the assertion of sovereignty, an essential attribute only predicated of Deity.
