For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
Paul wrote these words to the Christians at Rome, probably to encourage them to take a stand. Rome was the capital of the known world at that time - a Gentile city. Paul was sent to preach to the Gentiles, so he was very interested in going to Rome and preaching the good news. Ask the Lord to help you not to be ashamed, but to take a stand for Him.
