Baking done at home and by the women (Lev. 26:26²⁶And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied. (Leviticus 26:26); 1 Sam. 8:13¹³And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. (1 Samuel 8:13); 2 Sam. 13:8⁸So Tamar went to her brother Amnon's house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.
