"I've got ten pennies, grandpa" said the little girl one afternoon. Then she held out her hand for him to see. Together, they counted them. ONE... TWO... THREE... FOUR... FIVE. But to his great sur prize, there were no more. "Let's count them over again" he said.... ONE... TWO.. THREE... FOUR... FIVE. "Oh, sweetheart," said the elderly man, "We've counted your pennies twice. Both times we only got five." "Why did you tell me you had ten?" Now her little eyes brightened up and she replied with a smile: "Daddy said he would bring me five more pennies when he comes home from work today. So, I've got ten. I'm sure daddy will do it."
The little girl in our story believed in her father. She considered that she already had what her father had promised her although she could not see or feel the pennies as yet. God too can be trusted. In the Bible we read that GOD CANNOT LIE. This verse is in Titus 1:22In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Titus 1:2).
God has told us in His word that He sent His only begotten Son into this world to die for our sins. God raised Him from the grave and took Him back home to heaven when His work was done. Please read these verses in the Bible: I Corinthians 15:3&4; and Rom. 10:99That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9). God has told us that if we sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have immediately the forgiveness of all our sins and are saved forever. We can know we have everlasting life—not because we can see it or feel it, but because God has said so. Isn't this wonderful?
"THESE THINGS HAVE I WRITTEN UNTO YOU THAT BELIEVE ON THE A E OF THE SON OF GOD; THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE."
