Benevolent Neutrality

DURING the war between France and Germany, England was said to exercise a "benevolent neutrality" towards one of the combatants. There is large amount of "benevolent neutrality" respecting eternal things current amongst professing Christians.
There is a benevolent interest in the salvation of sinners, a complacent wish that they may not be lost, but all the while the benevolent professor is doing nothing to help them! The Master has said, "He that is not with Me is against Me, and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad." (Matt. 12:3030He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. (Matthew 12:30).)
