[Judas] goeth straightway to Him, and saith, Master, Master; and kissed Him.
The treachery of a trusted disciple! How callous and uncaring an unsaved person can be. Judas thought more of money than of the Lord and he betrayed Him with a kiss. The psalmist prophesied of this day so many years before, when he wrote (in Psalm 41), “Mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted  .  .  .  hath lifted up his heal against Me.” In another place Solomon said, “The kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Jesus was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. The greed of man - the grace of God.
