Near an English town one day, a group of boys and girls were blowing soap-bubbles. Do you know what fun that is? They watched the tiny bubbles grow larger, and saw the colors changing as the pretty bubbles floated through the air.
An old Christian named Henry Moorehouse came along just as one little fellow had caught a big one and closed his hands tightly over it. He could hardly be coaxed to give up his prize but at last he carefully opened his hands and what do you think was there? Perhaps you can guess how the little boy felt when he looked in surprise at his empty hands and said his childish way “I’ve nowt”.
The other children laughed but the little fellow was very near tears, for instead of a pretty bubble he had nothing at all. Henry Moorehouse did not laugh for it made him think of many people who try to get money or pleasure in this world. They try hard for these things, and hold them tightly, but when they come to die, they have nothing at all. When you come to die, what will you have? I hope you will have Jesus, for if you do not know Him as your Saviour, you have nothing at all.
