Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
In verse 5 of our chapter it says, “For every man shall bear his own burden.” Is this a contradiction? Of course not. If you look up the word burden in a Greek dictionary, you will see that the original language of the Bible used two entirely different words for “bear”. The word in our verse means “weight”. This indicates that sometimes the weight of daily life gets more than we can carry. When we notice another Christian bearing a great weight of life, we should immediately be willing to ease that burden, even if it means carrying some of it ourselves.
