(little coal). A gem of deep red color (Isa. 54:12¹²And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. (Isaiah 54:12)). A stone in the high-priest’s breastplate (Ex. 28:17; 39:10¹⁷And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row.
